Intro to Experiment 1 ..... 3 images, 3 artists, 3 words

3 IMAGES

... something creative
Sometimes the simplest of things can have the most beautiful detail ...
This lichen on my back fence went completely unnoticed until the day I looked a little closer while playing with the macro settings on my camera. I think the contrasting textures of the curves of the lichen foliage and the woodgrain give the photo a sense of tactility; while the colours perfectly reflect the urban environment surrounding my backyard.

... something beautiful

It's hard to explain the majestic silence as you stand below these mountain peaks.
Maroon Bells is part of the Elk Mountains in Colorado, USA. Though this image was taken in winter, you can still see the hints of maroon coloured mudstone from which the mountains are formed. In spring, this becomes the stunning red background for forests of golden aspens. I was lucky enough to experience this gorgeous wilderness in person, and though it was many years ago, i remember taking this photograph like it was yesterday.

I was first introduced to Frank Gehry's work several years ago. At that time, i was completely unaware that his work was so influential (or controversial), so it was a surprise (and amusing) to find that Matt Groening featured the architect in an episode of The Simpsons.
